Andrew Lee Potts appearing on stage in Dracula
I just received an e-mail from Adam Morley who is currently directing an adaptation of "Dracula" for the stage. This is what the e-mail said:

Andrew will be appearing as Jonathan Harker in a stage adaptation of Dracula 10th till 27th October 2012

A venue renowned for attracting classy stand-up comics and cutting-edge shows, the Leicester Square Theatre is looking to tingle your spine with its first ever horror festival running from 10 October to 4 November.

Arriving in time for Halloween, whenTheatreland’s ghosts are sure to be curling their way through the shadows, the West End celebration of terror will include a stage adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Shrouded in legend, this most famous of vampire myths is thought to stem from real bloodthirsty figures Vlad the Impaler and Countess Bathory. The chilling play is directed by Adam Morley staring Andrew Lee Potts (Primeval) and promises to be a visually stunning shocker, showing from 10 — 28 October.

Sounds like an opportunity not to be missed!

I hope so too. I think he wants us to spread the word (I was surprised when I receive the e-mail he sent).

Looking forward to booking my ticket.

He sent me a message through Twitter asking me where he could send me more info about the play. I wanted to say, just post the details on Twitter. I also wanted to say, send out a press release. It seems like he's looking for someone to do PR for him. But I'm just a fan!

I guess he just wants to get the word out there anyway possible.

We're all just fans but I guess we can send out some messages anyway.

Yes, what Tracy said. :) With the amount of social media there is now, a lot of PR can be done just by word of mouth. I'm sure he said the same to all of us that he would be sending pics and info soon, yes? Once we get it we can just post it everywhere to make people aware. Same as we've done for Little Larry. I don't think they'd be anywhere near where they are now if it weren't for Andrew's fans.(not that the short isn't that good, which it is)

Yes, social media is great for spreading the word. But a professional press release to media outlets is really good too, but maybe the theater will do that sort of thing. He needs to get Andrew's name out there. It's not even on the site where you buy tickets.

Yes, in the e-mails I received he said he could send pictures and info if I want them. Maybe he wants to advertise just through fans' word or mouth?

See this is the first "official" confirmation that Andrew is starring in this... Adam has been tweeting Andrew's name (along with his friend Maxim Wrottesley) and calling them the "dream team" but he's never said that Andrew is in it, so we were wondering if he was "just" doing production and behind the scenes. Perhaps those in touch with him could suggest that - I think a lot of people would be interested purely for Andrew. Or maybe they don't want that, and just want people to go for the play in its own right.

Either way... definitely going on one of the Saturdays, and now I know for certain he's in it I am going to look at hotels etc!

Anyone up for a meet up? drinks and stalking together is so much more fun than on your own

And editted to add.... he's playing Johnathan Harker!!!!!!

After receiving the initial e-mail I messaged him back asking if it was okay for me to to share the info with other Andrew fans and replied with "please do" so it doesn't seem like he'd have much of a problem with people being interested just for Andrew. I guess as long as people see it he'd be happy.

I'm so jealous for anyone who can go. The theater is a small one, just 70 seats, so you'll get to be up close and personal with Andrew! Plus, the tickets are relatively cheap. I just can't see spending $1200 to fly over there for it. Sigh.

Adam told us a few more things about the play. Apparently the actors will be in all black because there will be puppets. Also, I asked him if they would be visible on stage or hidden, and he said both. They are mixing styles. So I'm not sure what that means for actually getting to see Andrew in the play!

Very cool for Andrew! Wish I could be there to see him on stage. I know he's got Harker down...
